The Level 1 Award is an entry level qualification providing a straightforward introduction to wine. It is ideal for boosting the confidence of those new to the wine or hospitality trade and is also a great course for those consumers wanting to gain some basic wine knowledge. The course covers ;
- an exploration of wine styles and quality levels
- a food and wine pairing exercise
- correct storage and service conditions
- tutored tasting of local and imported wines

Course half days: Half day 1 Monday 28 April 2025 and Half day Monday 12th May 2025
Exam: Monday 12th May 2025
Venue: The Tasting Room, Epsom, Auckland
Time: 9.00am - 12 noon
Taught over two mornings, there is a 30 question, closed book multiple choice examination at the end of the second morning. Completed exam papers are sent to WSET London for marking. Successful students are awarded a certificate and lapel pin.
